SFTP connectors

Secure Shell File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) enables file‑based exchange of EDI messages and other business documents when an API connector is not suitable. ecosio sets up the SFTP connector for you during onboarding. You can view your SFTP connectors on the Connectors page in the ERP connectors section.

SFTP hostname and port

This section displays the hostname and port of ecosio’s SFTP server.

SFTP credentials

Your SFTP credentials are used to authenticate your ERP or business software and set up the SFTP connector. Store them securely. For security, you might only be able to view the credentials once. If you lose your password, generate a new one.

  • Username: The username configured for your connector.
  • Authentication type: PASSWORD or CERTIFICATE. For password authentication, ecosio configures the initial password and you can regenerate it in the Monitor at any time. Authentication certificates are made available via public key to provide passwordless authentication.

SFTP directories

This section displays the properties used when documents are exchanged using this SFTP connector. These properties are set by ecosio.

  • Maximum message size: Sets the largest document ecosio accepts or forwards.
  • Upload directory: The directory where inbound documents get delivered or forwarded to.
  • Download directory: The directory where outbound documents are delivered or forwarded from.
  • State change: If selected, deleting a file from your SFTP download directory updates the message status in the Monitor to Picked up. Only messages waiting that haven't been picked up should remain in the download directory.
