Email over Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) lets you exchange electronic documents by email. You can use email to receive or send documents via ecosio. ecosio creates a message for each processed email attachment, which is displayed on the Messages overview page in the Monitor.

Use SMTP only when a mandate requires email exchange, and set it up with your ecosio Integration Engineer.

Inbound email

With inbound email, your suppliers send electronic documents to an ecosio email address. ecosio validates and processes the email attachments automatically.

Outbound email

With SMTP forwarding, ecosio sends electronic documents by email to your recipients. You can use the standard ecosio domain or configure a custom subdomain.
