Retrieve basic authentication credentials for the Management API

Warning

OAuth 2.0 is the preferred authentication method. Basic authentication is deprecated and will be removed in the future. We recommend using OAuth 2.0 whenever possible.

To authenticate Management API requests using basic authentication, you must provide the user ID, user key, and app key.

To retrieve the user ID, user key, and app key:

  1. In the Monitor, go to the Connectors page.

  2. In the Management API Connectors table, select on the row of the connector you want to retrieve the credentials for.

  3. In the OAuth 2.0 credentials section, select next to App key.

  4. In the Basic credentials section, select next to User ID.

  5. Select Generate User Key.

    Note

Generating a new user key immediately invalidates an existing user key. The new user key is only displayed once, as soon as it is generated. We recommend that you store it in a password manager.

  6. Select Generate User Key to confirm the action.

  7. Select next to User key.

  8. Select Close.
